Lara's passion for viticulture began at an early age as a "crush assistant" for her father's small production cuvées, stomping small vats of grapes in her backyard in the Finger Lakes of New York.
Drifting only slightly from the wine world, she continued on to focus her studies in the plant sciences, and ran a two year research project on riparian buffer ecosystems. As her love of science rivals a quest for adventure, Lara left the States to spend a year travelling Europe, taking a position in marketing at an artisan leather boutique in Florence, visiting the wine growing regions of France and Italy, and also enjoying an extended stay in London.
Lara began her career in wine at Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars, and later Sherry-Lehmann Wine Merchants, before joining Oriel. As a lifelong student of ballet and modern dance, Lara is a season ticket holder for the New York City Ballet and also enjoys exploring the many treasures of New York City's botanical gardens and museums.
Lara holds a BS in Biology from Bucknell University.
