The Sonoma Coast features a broad range of terroirs ranging from loamy river terrains to sun-baked hills with foggy ridges along the coastline. Cool climate varietals such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay excel in these conditions and have given the region its richly deserved acclaim. Summer fog, winter rainfall and year-round wind can easily ruin crops, yet when strategically planted above the fog lines, vines receive plenty of sunshine and yield sublime wines with great acidity and gentle power.
