Alain Raynaud
Although Alain Raynaud can trace his family's involvement in the wine business back to the 15th century, he went to medical school and spent twenty five years working as a hospital doctor before he returned to his roots. In 1997 he purchased Château Quinault in Saint-Emilion, and substantial investment, coupled with his innovative approach to winemaking, has propelled this property to the forefront of its appellation.
Alain has also been involved in crafting some of the most sought-after small production wines in Bordeaux, including La Fleur De Gay and La Croix De Gay in Pomerol. He currently supervises the production of Château Lascombes in Margaux and is consultant to Colgin in Napa. He served as President of the Union Des Grands Crus De Bordeaux from 1994-2000, representing top Bordeaux wines around the world.
