Name Story
Ortolan is named for the songbird found in Weinviertel's vineyards whose melody is said to have inspired Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Vineyards at the foot of the Falkenstein cliffs. Rich soil mixed with weathered
shell limestone over a layer of moisture-retaining clay. Hand-picked grapes and
slow, temperature-controlled fermentation.

100% Grüner Veltliner. Picked October 23–28, 2004.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Delicate apple and pear with spicy white pepper overtones. Taste: Crisp, fresh green apple with hints of tobacco and an intense mineral finish.
